Bio

Jorge Colón is a Senior Staff Attorney in POAH’s Legal Department, assisting POAH's general counsel and supporting the rest of the legal team with all aspects of the department's work, including project legal work and corporate legal services. Jorge is responsible for providing legal advice to POAH staff across all departments, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of contracts, including design and construction contracts and purchase and sale agreements, along with assisting with legal aspects of POAH's financing, including advising on business structures and legal entities.

Prior to joining POAH, Jorge was a Court Service Center Manager at the Massachusetts Trial Court, where he supported operations and programs at six Court Service Centers across the State to assist pro se litigants. During his time there, Jorge was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Boston Municipal Court as chair of the Spread the Word Working Group of the Language Access Advisory Committee and was awarded the Massachusetts Trial Court Excellence Award.

Jorge is a former program director at Allston Brighton CDC, where he managed its Homeownership Program. He also worked on workforce development programs at the Somerville Community Corporation.

Jorge is a co-chair of the Affordable Housing Committee at the Boston Bar Association and a board member of Hildebrand, a Cambridge-based non-profit organization that helps families transition out of homelessness.

Jorge received his J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Puerto Rico, and is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Puerto Rico.
