The 100 garden apartments are housed in 5 residential wood framed, shingled buildings. All of the buildings were originally constructed in 1978. The property is setback from the main road and is close to the town’s center, retail stores and major transportation routes. The site contains a well-used community building, barbecue areas and a pet park. It is 100% Section 8 and historically has had a 99% occupancy rate.

DescriptionThe Kenzi at Bartlett Station contains 50 units of supportive, affordable housing for older adults and is part of the five-phase redevelopment of the former bus yard now owned by Nuestra Comunidad and Windale Developers. The Kenzi serves individuals age 55 or older who have either low or middle-income housing needs in 41 affordable one-bedroom apartments and 3 affordable two-bedroom apartments.

Cape View Way

DescriptionCompleted during winter 2025, the 3-story Cape View Way development is a partnership between POAH and Housing Assistance. Cape View Way consists of 42 units of affordable housing with a mix of nine one-bedroom, 28 two-bedroom, and five three-bedroom apartments. Three apartments are fully handicapped-accessible, and a fourth is accessible to sensory-impaired residents.

Flat 9 at Whittier

DescriptionThe first two phases of The Flat 9 at Whittier redevelopment was a collaboration between POAH, Madison Park Development Corporation and the Boston Housing Authority to redevelop the Whittier Street Apartments site in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. Originally built in the early 1950s, the Whittier Apartments were home to 200 public housing families. Phase three, The Amp at Flat 9, is a collaboration with the Boston Housing Authority that added market rate rentals to the redevelopment.

Barry Farm

DescriptionThe Barry Farm neighborhood is located off Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, west of historic Anacostia in Washington, D.C. and was originally established in 1867 as the first African-American homeownership community in Washington, D.C. for newly freed slaves. Over time, the original 375-acre site dwindled in size and in 1943 The National Capital Housing Authority acquired 24 acres and built the Barry Farm public housing project.
